At Rescue Lake Simcoe Coalition (RLSC), we engage youth and families through our free, curriculum-linked educational resources designed for Grades 1-12. These resources emphasize local knowledge, ecological literacy, and environmental action, offering an enriching learning experience for students.

What We Offer

Our volunteer-led Education Team provides a dynamic, hands-on program for students in Grades 2-8. This half-day program (with optional follow-up days) includes interactive activities that spark curiosity and deepen students’ understanding of the Lake Simcoe watershed. It is an ideal resource for connecting Science and Social Studies curricula to the natural world in a relevant and engaging way.

Program Highlights

  • Teacher’s Guide: A comprehensive resource offering educators background information and links to engaging activities. It also includes a series of slides to help kick-start classroom discussions and research on local environmental topics.
  • Curriculum Links: Documents with specific links to Ontario’s Science, Social Studies, and Geography curricula for Grades 1-12.
  • Slideshow for Students: Tailored presentations covering watershed-specific topics, providing context for local ecological issues.
